Our Delivery Policy
Every gift is personally hand-delivered by Local Floral Shop or one of our local affiliate florists. We make every effort to ensure that your order is delivered as quickly as possible–to your specifications. Please be sure to enter all specific requests and delivery information in the "Delivery notes” field during checkout. Should you require special delivery arrangements, or require more information than what is listed below, please contact us at 1-888-536-6736.
Most of our products are available for delivery throughout the United States and Canada. We also provide delivery to most large cities and towns in US territories such as Puerto Rico and Guam. Should the item you select not be available for your requested delivery date, we will notify you as quickly as possible. Please be sure to read our Substitution policy.
Same Day Delivery
All of our floral products can be delivered the same day if the order is placed before 1pm in the recipient's time zone, Monday through Friday and in most cases before 11am on Saturdays. Orders received after those times will be delivered the following business day. Fruit and gourmet baskets, and exotic tropical flowers may require 24 hours notice for delivery.
Sunday and Holiday Delivery
While Sunday and Holiday delivery is possible in many areas, it is not available in all locations. We will make every effort to accommodate your requested delivery date, but if delivery service is unavailable on the Sunday or Holiday you have selected, your gift will typically be delivered either Saturday, or the day before the Holiday–assuming your order was placed early enough. For orders made on Sunday or the day of a Holiday, your gift will be delivered the next business day. Specific Time Requests
In general, most deliveries are made between the hours 9AM-5PM. We’ll do our best to accommodate your specific time requests if they are noted on your order, but we cannot guarantee them. Certain locations such as hospitals, funeral homes, and commercial building often require us to deliver to "flower rooms” or "mail rooms” whereby internal staff completes the delivery to specific rooms, floors, and chapels.
During peak periods and floral holidays such as Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, we are unable to accept any specific time request due to the surge in deliveries. Please note that some recipients may be called prior to delivery in an effort to dispatch drivers correctly and economically. Our goal is to keep your delivery costs to a minimum.
Delivery to Apartments
It is our policy to contact recipients who live in apartment buildings, condominiums or gated communities to establish what time they will be home to receive the delivery and what is required to enter the building or area. This is a necessary step taken to ensure a successful delivery on the date requested. The only exceptions are for buildings with a concierge, reception desk or townhomes where the gift can be left with a neighbor or at the doorstep.
Delivery to Hospitals
We are very experienced in making deliveries to hospitals and nursing homes. When placing your order, be sure to include all information that you may have about the recipient, the hospital name, phone number and room number. We will deliver your gift in accordance with the procedures of the designated facility so please keep in mind that many hospitals will not allow for personal delivery to a patient's room. In these situations, the delivery will be made to the reception desk or nursing station–including deliveries for ICU patients.Please note, glass and other breakable products are not permitted throughout psychological wards and automatic substitution will be made in floral containers to accommodate safety concerns.
Recipient Not Home
If you have included special instructions for delivery, please take into account what you would like to happen if the intended recipient is not home when the gift is being delivered. In most cases, if the recipient is not at home, our delivery staff will:
- Call the recipient to schedule an appropriate delivery time
- Leave a note on their door asking them to contact the delivering florist concerning the delivery
- Leave the arrangement in a secured and covered area near the front door, like a porch, garage or other accessible entrance
- Leave the gift with a neighbor and leave a note for the recipient advising this action
There will be times when certain flowers or containers ordered will not be available due to seasonal changes, our quality standards or disruptions in supply. During these times, we will make every effort to substitute an appropriate replacement that meets the same levels of quality and value as the original, as well as maintaining the standards of style, theme, and color schemes as the original order. Extreme Weather and Inaccessible Locations
There will be times when delivery dates and times will not be met due to circumstances beyond our control. Sometimes, extreme weather may make it impossible for your gift to be delivered on the date you requested. If your gift cannot be delivered due to weather conditions, inaccessibility to the delivery site, special order considerations and delays, or for any other reason, we will make every attempt to contact you and/or the recipient concerning the delay.Unless you tell us otherwise, in all situations where we are unable to deliver your gift on time, in the method you specified, we will reschedule delivery for the next available delivery date and time. We will also include a personal apology note with your order explaining what caused the delivery to be delayed.
